The Role

As a Developer Community Content Marketer youll be the voice of GitKraken across owned media, social media, and developer communities. Your mission is to create engaging content with users, customers, partners and influencers to build our brand presence and advocacy amongst developers and technical leaders. You will also work closely with the demand generation team to create and integrate multimedia assets into broader campaigns that drive measurable business growth. This role is ideal for a creative storyteller with a passion for connecting with technical audiences and a deep understanding of what makes developers tick.

What you'll do

  • Social Media Content Creation:Develop and execute content strategies for GitKrakens social media channels, creating posts, carousels, video, audio snippets, and threads tailored to developers.
  • Developer Community Engagement: Actively participate in developer forums (e.g., GitHub Discussions, Reddit, Stack Overflow), fostering conversations, sharing resources, and building relationships.
  • Interactive Campaigns:Create and manage campaigns designed to engage developers, such as polls, AMAs, contests, live-streams, and challenges that promote GitKrakens tools and community.
  • Real-Time Trends: Monitor social and community trends, leveraging opportunities to add value to conversations and share relevant insights.
  • Content Distribution:Amplify blog posts, videos, product updates, and multimedia content across social channels to maximize reach and engagement.
  • Ambassador Collaboration: Work closely with GitKraken Ambassadors and Dev Influencers to co-create and promote authentic, community-driven content.
  • Community Growth:Design and execute strategies to grow and retain GitKrakens online communities, encouraging active participation and feedback.
  • Analytics & Insights: Track social media and community engagement metrics, reporting on performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Thought Leadership: Conduct interviews, create content, and form strategies for internal SMEs to establish thought leaders in the DevEx space on behalf of GitKraken.
  • Campaign Support:Work with demand generation and design teams to integrate multimedia assets into broader campaigns that drive measurable business growth.

What youll bring

  • Experience:3+ years in multimedia content creation, video production, or content marketing, preferably in B2B SaaS or tech.
  • Social Media Expertise:Deep understanding of social media platforms, developer forums/communities, and how to leverage them for content distribution and engagement. YouTube, Reddit, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky, Stackoverflow, Twitch, Slack, Discord, Hacker News, GitHub, etc.
  • Developer Savvy:Familiarity with Git, GitHub, or other developer tools, and a deep understanding of developer culture and humor.
